Renewable Energy Sources: Solar

Since the Czech government approved the legal conditions for renewable resource incentives, we have been supporting investors willing to construct and operate solar plants in the Czech Republic for more than two years. We are also prepared to offer roofs for solar panels, with agreed commission.

We are able to provide adequate plots with all the necessary licenses for installing photovoltaic plants. It can be done in two ways: directly developing a specific plot under a signed agreement with a client/investor or looking for projects that are being developed by third parties and subsequently assisting in the negotiation/acquisition process.

Highlights on Photovoltaics in the Czech Republic

  • Untill 2010 the Czech Government assumes the responsibility to have 8% of its energy generated from renewable sources
  • In order to fulfil this aim the Czech Government approved Act No. 180/2005 Coll., which motivates and regulates investments in this sector
  • According to this law, for 2009 the price of 12.79 CZK/kWh is mandatory, which is guaranteed for a period of 20 years. This price is indexed according to the industrial price index (which may vary from 2%-4% yearly)
  • Photovoltaic plants have a tax-free regime during the first 5 years of operation. Moreover, the general taxation level for companies will be reduced in the following 3 years to 19%, leaving the withholding tax unchanged at 15%
  • In 2008 the country finished with an installed capacity of almost 60 MWp (compared with 15 MWp installed in the end of 2007). The year 2009 is expected to finish with an installed capacity of 120 MWp

Right now we are working for important German and Spanish companies in the sector, sometimes providing consultancy and in some cases directly developing the projects for them. At present we are working directly on 3 projects within the country, totalling almost 25 MWp.
